Operation Christmas Child

We are excited to partner with Operation Christmas Child this year. You are welcome to participate in any way that you are able to. You can pack an entire box, donate $9 for shipping, or do both!

What is Operation Christmas child?

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization. Our mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. We ship these simple gifts outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S.

How to Pack a Shoebox

  1. Pick up your box from the church.

  2. Decide whether you will pack a box for a girl or a boy, and the age category: 2–4, 5–9, or 10–14.

  3. Select a medium to large “wow” item such as a soccer ball with pump or stuffed animal, then fill with other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies. Make sure it fits in your box!

  4. Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your gift. You can also include a personal note and photo.

  5. Donate $9 and receive a label to Follow Your Box and discover the destination of your shoebox gift.

  6. Bring your box to Shelby Bible Church by November 8.
