We believe that “all scripture is given by inspiration of God.” (2 Tim. 3:16), through holy men of God who ”were moved by the Holy Ghost ”to write the very words of God (2 Peter l:21; I Cor.2: 13). We believe that the whole Bible, consisting of 66 books in the original,is completed without error. We believe the Bible to be the verbally inspired Word of God inerrant and our only authority in faith and practice.
We believe there is one true God, the Creator and Redeemer, and that He is known to us in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, co-equal in every divine perfection and exercising distinct but harmonious ministries in redemption.
We believe that Jesus Christ is Deity from all eternity, and that by a miraculous birth He took to Himself a perfect human nature. He is therefore God and man, the two natures being inseparably united in one glorious person.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Third person of the Trinity, though omnipresent from eternity, took up His abode in the church in a special sense on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2). We believe that He dwells in every believer, and by His baptism unites every believer to Christ in one body.
We believe that Satan, called the devil, is a person, unholy but powerful, the enemy of God and man, whose destiny is, in justice, the lake of fire.
We believe the biblical account of creation to be literally accurate and that man came into being by direct creation and not by process of evolution.
FALL & REDEMPTION OF MAN
We believe that man’s state by creation was innocence; that by free choice he transgressed the known will of God, and became by nature and choice a sinner; that he is utterly unable to do anything to merit God’s favor; but that salvation has been provided for him by the grace of God upon the basis of the blood of Christ shed upon the cross, and that this salvation becomes operative for the individual upon his trustful acceptance of Christ as Savior.
We believe the Scriptures declare that, in virtue of the original purpose and continuous operation of God, all who are united to Christ by faith will infallibly continue in a state of grace and will finally attain to everlasting life.
Universal - We believe the church, the body of Christ, to be composed of all genuine believers in Jesus Christ, and that it is essentially an organism rather than an organization.
Local - We believe a local church to be an organized body baptized believers who meet for the purpose of worship observance of the ordinances and the proclamation of the gospel.
The Lord’s Supper: wherein we partake of the bread and the fruit of the vine to show forth our Lord’s death “Until He Come.”
Baptism: which we understand to mean the immersion of believers in water as an outward symbol of participation by faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, and of the newness of life in which it is now expected we shall walk.
THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH
We believe that, according to the Word of God, the next great event in the fulfillment of prophecy will be the coming of the Lord in the air to receive to Himself into heaven both His own who are alive and remain unto His coming and also all who have fallen asleep in Jesus.
THE SECOND COMING
We believe that the period of great tribulation on earth will be climaxed by the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth just as He went, He will return in person in the clouds of heaven and with power’ and great glory to introduce the millennial age,to bind Satan and place him in the abyss (Rev.20:1-8), to lift the curse which now rests upon the whole creation to restore Israel to her own land, and to give her the realization of God’s covenant promises and to bring the whole world to the knowledge of God (Isaiah ll:9).
THE FINAL JUDGMENT
We believe that at death the spirits and souls of those who have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation pass immediately into His presence(2 Cor. 5:6-B; Phil. l:23), and there remain in conscious state of great joy until the resurrection of the glorified body when Christ comes for His own, whereupon the soul and body reunited shall be associated with Him forever in Glory (l Cor. 15:51.17). The spirits and souls of the unbelieving remain after death conscious of condemnation and in misery until the final judgment of the Great White Throne at the close of the millennium, when soul and body reunited shall be cast into the Lake of Fire, not to be annihilated, but to be punished with ever-lasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power We believe that the Bible teaches that a time is coming when the heavens and earth, as we now know them will pass away with a roar, and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat (2 Peter 3:10). The believer is to live, therefore a life of consistency and godliness in recognition of the temporary nature of this present material world and in anticipation of a new heaven and a new earth (2 Peter 3:11-14). It will be at this time that “the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God” (Rev. 2l:3)
