Encouraging On-the-Spot ("Barnabas Ministries")
The "Barnabas" ministries of encouragement include Music, Choir, Drama, and other volunteer areas.  The Barnabus ministry volunteers are usually seen serving in public, encouraging individuals or the whole congregation, contributing to the worship of our great and mighty God.  We are always looking for volunteers who are willing to serve in these "On-the-spot" roles.
  • The Shelby Junior Choir   ( 0 Articles )

The Junior Choir ministry at Shelby Bible Church, provides an excellent opportunity for children to be involved in ministry.

By singing in the choir, a child can serve as a leader in the most important gathering of the congregation. Experience has shown that when a child is given a "job" to do, it creates a positive environment where they feel motivated to participate. Participation in a music ministry also helps to enhance the child's musical development. All things considered, the Junior Choir is a great way for children to serve the Lord and have lots of fun too!

The Junior Choir Website has more info, and practice materials for the choir members.

  • The Shelby Adult Choir   ( 1 Article )

The Shelby Adult Choir is a wonderful ministry opportunity for those who love to sing who are in high school and above.  The choir meets weekly on Wednesday evening, and performs an average of once a week during the school year and at least one major production a year - either a Christmas or an Easter musical.  We are always looking for new members and look for those who can sing a part. We invite anyone who is a regular attender to come to a rehearsal to check out this special encouragement ministry, involved in leading the congregation to "worship the Lord and exalt His name together"!

For more information, please email Mr. Randy Riepma, our worship Leader!

  • Sound Booth Ministry   ( 0 Articles )

Imagine coming to church and straining to hear the music, the announcements, the preaching, or not being able to hear them at all!  The Sound Booth technicians and their computer assistants provide a critical service for all of us.  They setup (and tear down when necessary) the musical and sound equipment, adjust the levels and come early for rehearsals for all those who participate in the music program (and they deal with a lot of different preferences!!), record the services, project lyrics and sermon notes on the screen and keep up with everyone's suggestions!  Wow!  Thank God for the men who are willing to help in this vital area.

If you're interested in being a part of the Sound Booth Ministry Team, please contact Randy Riepma at randy@shelbybc.org.

  • Musicians   ( 0 Articles )

Skilled musicians are needed in our services to encourage those who attend who long to worship God through raising their voices in praise to the One Who is our Creator, Provider and Sustainer.  If you are a skilled musician who is interested in using your gift of music to encourage others, please feel free to contact our worship leader by emailing randy@shelbybc.org.

  • Worship Ministries   ( 1 Article )

These ministries are "out in front" where more people notice them.  They serve in the worship services helping to use their talent to lead the congregation to worship.

  • The Ushers Ministry   ( 1 Article )
The ushers of our church do an amazing job of offering their help to those who ask for assistance before, during and after services, whether it be in the parking lot or insude the building.  They are also involved in keeping track of attendance and collecting the offering.
