Getting to Know Pastor Matt PDF Print E-mail
Who is your favorite Bible Character and why?

My favorite Bible character is David because it shows me that someone that sinned and failed so much became a man after God’s own heart.  It proves to me the power of God’s grace and gives me hope that I can have that same heart.

What is the motto or quote you use to live your life by?

I live by a quote from Dr. Charles Keen about life as a believer, “It is not about you anymore.”

What advice would you give a twenty-year old?

There are only two places you can search for complete satisfaction in this life:  you will try to find it in something temporal in this world or you will find it lasting in Jesus Christ.  Sadly too many are trying to find it in the temporal.

Who would you dream about inviting to your fantasy dinner?

Jesus, Winston Churchill, Ronald Reagan, Chris Tomlin,  John Wayne, Abraham Lincoln,  Pastor Casey (he’s not listed last because he got invited last; he got invited 2nd right after Jesus!)

What's on your bookshelf?

Two worn out old Bibles.  One was my father’s and one was my mother’s.  Those Bibles mean more to me than anyone will ever know.

What are the things that people don’t know you enjoy doing?

Riding roller coasters, singing, playing ping pong, making up songs and stories to sing and tell my kids, painting, laughing.  I just enjoy life!

If you could ask God one question, what would it be?

Did you laugh and have fun when you created the animals?  Seriously, Lord, some of these animals are just plain hilarious.
